We have a great group of people on this site. Our membership continues to grow and we will soon exceed 4000 registered posting members. This is a large step from our startup on May 28, 2002. We are very fortunate on our site to have sponsors who advertise, and members who contribute to help defray the costs. We are all here with the same goals, to see honest, unbiased information about lubrication without the sales hype that I have seen on other web sites. In fact, the owner of this site is retired and does not sell any product. When you visit our forums, you'll see these avatars, , next to the name of someone that has taken the time to help keep this board free to everyone. These are the people that have contributed to help keep this board and forums free to everyone. I would like to Thank each supporter and contributor for their contributions which allow us to grow. Visit the Forums On A Different Subject... We have a few people working on a new project. Many have seen the filter report where someone has opened up filters and did a basic full flow filter construction overview. As interesting as this has been, and as much as this report has flown around the internet, some of the board members have decided to go a step further. We have learned through testing that full flow filtration is important but... it is second to flow rates when it comes to wear protection. That being said, These guys are designing a rig that will allow a way to measure basic flow rates on different filters. After going through this, they will develop a report on their findings using basic OTC filters bought around local shops. This IMO, is going to be very interesting and will take some time to do, but again, people from all over are pitching in and it looks like it's already starting. So, keep a watch as we get this test going and like us, learn what the real deal is on full flow filters and how it affects oil flow and wear. More on this topic at BOBISTHEOILGUY Filter Study.. ED P. A Special Thanks to AnthonyS AnthonyS on our forum took some time and did a few flow checks on some basic air filters. We want to thank him for donating this information to us so we can share with all. Get a chance, take a look then join in on our forum to see what others have to say or leave some comments to others about this. Air Flow Tests The Story With Additives Many people like to add additives to already blended oils. So, in light of this, I decided to take a well known additive in the trucking industry that is used in gear oils and motor oils. The following is what I did. Click Here for Complete Story If this is your first time here a must read is our Effects of Oil Shearing. This segment helps explain how an oil is effected by the high shear zones that engines produce. New Site Supporter Members Blackstone Labs. Established in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1985, Blackstone Laboratories was the culmination of an effort to provide an easier-to-use, more accurate, and faster oil analysis program. Blackstone Laboratories Oil Analysis Program include the use of database averages for the comparison of wear to norms - published on every report produced - and the use of a comment section to explain the oil data.
