Body Text: Home Forums Aero-Soft.com Skins Weekly Episode #3 Hi and welcome to this week's edition of Skins Weekly. Because of technical difficulties (ie. pain in the arse work), the program had been postponed until today. Yes, I know, you all almost died without me. Alright, so, to start off, let's look at a few of the great new skins this week. One of the best skins released this week has to be the MSN skin by Rolando. It is simply beautiful in every aspect of the word and you can even pick from two different styles! It's like heaven on earth. Well, MSN could stand to be a bit better, but hey, if you use MSN, this is the skin for you. Want it? That's what I thought. Well, just stop right by the release thread or his site to download it. Mind you this theme is only for MSN 6.2, so if you've got MSN Messenger 7 then you're out of luck. Just switch back and download the theme! It's worth it. Hands up for those who've heard of Rainlendar! Looks like most of you. Now, how 'bout hands up for those who know what Rainmeter is! Pretty good, not everyone though. Rainmeter is a Sysmetrix type application from the author of Rainlendar. So, to get straight to the point, ethsza has released a beautiful Aero Glass styled skin for it. The glass of his is comparable to Stefanka's glass, it's that good looking. And the best part, he's still going to develope it further! Interested? Visit the release thread or go straight to Customize.org to download! And, our last skin for the day. KoL has released a beta of his Firefox theme. It is based on Longknot by Lynchknot and is coming along very nicely. The url, search fields and the tabs all look very good, and the best results come if you use both KoL's firefox theme and his Longhorn Slate msstyle. So what are you waiting for? Go download it! That's all for Skin's Weekly. Until next time! Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! (I tried looking for a link, but it said TAD was in May. Oh well, that's what they told us at school today.) 10/05/04 06:19:09 pm | Leave a comment | Posted by eric Forum mockups needed! We've successfully made the switch to VB3.03, and the forum is going strong. Please make certain to clean up your sigs and avatars if they were messed up during the change. Aero-Soft is looking for new forum skins! We have a nice mockup from Lou for the default look that we will start converting soon, but we want MORE. If you have an idea what you would like to see this forum look like, create a mockup in .psd format and post it in this thread. If you have any questions, ask here or in the official thread. 10/05/04 02:39:29 pm | Leave a comment | Posted by deadzombie New forums, passwords must be reset. Tim and I went ahead and threw in the remaining cost of the board so we could get this upgrade underway. Thanks to everyone that donated, every little bit (even the $2 donations) helped! Now the call goes out: we want forum skinnners! If you can create a skin without IM'ing Tim for help, we want to see your work. Lou and pAntoni ahve already come up with some incredible looking mockups for Aero-Softs default look, but we want to make as many options available as possible. See you guys on the other side of this improvement. 10/04/04 08:52:31 pm | 1 comment | Posted by deadzombie The iPod gets a taste of a New Generation, Pepsi Pepsi announved that they will be giving away an ipod every hour, every day, until december 25th. There are 2016 ipod's to giveaway but unfortunately only Canadian citizens get the offer. To get the ipod's, you simply buy a Pepsi soda product, drink it, and get the PIN number on the back and enter it in at Pepsi's site: http://pepsiipod.securepromoti Or alternativly, you can fill out a survey on the site to fill out and save money. All in all, this is a great deal, I almost want to become a Canadian citizen myself. The goal is to see which Spacecraft can reach Space twice in one week. Mojave Aerospace Ventures, a joint project of aircraft designer Burt Rutan and financier Paul Allen, built SpaceShipOne for $20 million to $30 million and entered the competition. On Monday, October 3rd, 2004, SpaceShipOne lifted off into clear skies over the Mojave Desert with former Navy Pilot Brian Binnie at the helm. As Binnie reached the altitude of 48,000 feet, he released SpaceShipOne from it's carrier plane, know as "White Knight," and ignited his rocket engines and shot off at three times the speed of sound until he reached 63.9 miles (100+ kilometers). He then exited Earth's atmosphere and entered Space. This was the 2nd time in less than a week that SpaceShipOne has entered Space. Making it the Ansari X Prize winner. 10/04/04 01:30:50 pm | Leave a comment | Posted by The JOSH [News] MSN Messenger goes Longhorn! Rolando releases Longhorn MSN Rolando, a well known artist in the skinning community, has released his Longhorn MSN suite of skins for MSN Messenger. The suite contains two themes: Aero and Inspirat, inspired by Aero UI by Windows X and Longhorn Inspirat by Stefanka respectively. Also included are a collection of Longhorn chat backgrounds that users can choose from. The skins look amazing, it has to be said, and massive thanks go out to Rolando and all those who helped him, gave him permission to port their work etc. This one's a keeper, guys! If you've been there very recently, you've also very likely gone to the Sci-Fi museum he founded. I personally enjoyed the latter MUCH more than EMP. The Sci-Fi museum seemed to just be so much more intimate. But in any case, as the title may explain, Microsoft's Paul Allen has begun construction on a new museum. Everyone reading this is going to be more interested in this one than the other two combined (or..at least I will!). Forbes.com has written up an excellent article describing this "microcomputer museum gallery." Check it out here. 10/02/04 10:19:28 pm | Leave a comment | Posted by dweiss VoIP Recenly my dad brought home to show me what Cisco could make. Well they made IP phones as most of you know.
