When I say un-needed posting I mean “crap” or issues not dealing with the Appalachian Trail. There has to be a point when we have to put our foot down. It seems like there may be some people out there that think it is fun to get others all stirred up and try to see how many post they can get in one thread. The goal of this site is not to see how many post one thread can get. So I guess what I am trying to say is that I am putting my foot down. I am not saying it will turn into a site like Trailplace where everything gets deleted if the ADMIN does not like the post. But we have to control this. It is turning people away from the site. I have been getting several users asking me to remove them from WhiteBlaze. We do not want this to happen. It is defeating our purpose. So I am going to try and experiment here on WhiteBlaze and see how it works. I have created a separate user group for those that wish to keep these non-Appalachian Trail issues going. This way those that do not wish to see them will not have to. In this user group you can post or talk about anything you want not dealing with the Appalachian Trail. If you do not wish to become a member of this group then it is a simple as not joining it and you will never see any of these posts. The name of the user group is “Non-AT discussion”. If someone can come up with a better name for this user group then I will consider changing it. To join this user group go to your USERCP and then click on GROUP MEMEBERSHIPS and select the group you would like to join. Or try going to this like here: http://www.whiteblaze.net/foru An easier way is to click one of these two links. This will hopefully be the last time I ask this question. This is more than a WhiteBlaze get together. It is also Trail Magic for thru-hikers and anyone who has a interest in the Appalachian Trail. So if you know someone that wants to come that is not a member of WhiteBlaze then please drag them along also. If you know someone that is a prospective thru-hiker or section hiker then drag them along also. I need to get a feeling of how many WhiteBlaze members will be attending the 18 September get together. I need to know how much food and drinks we need to acquire. So could you please vote on the voting poll that I created so that I can get a feel of how many people will be attending. I have come up with a sort of agenda for the first day. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to post them. This is the first time I have ever done an event like this so I can use all the help and suggestions I can get. 1. Arrivals through out the day. Will have a trail register style signup sheet. 2. Socializing and meting others. 3. Cooking for thru-hikers passing through. 4. Start cooking for free meal around 4:30. 5. 7 PM, WhiteBlaze welcome announcement and explain about the web site and where it is and where we hope to have it go. 6. Introductions, Who are you/trail name, when have you hiked and when are you going to hike ect… 7. 8 PM, Baltimore Jack’s Question and answers session for prospective hikers. 8. Campfire on into the night. Here are some other options we are looking into. 1. Swimming trip up to The Forks for a bridge jumping trip. 2. Canoe trip down the Kennebec River on Sunday. __________________ AT Troll 58 Replies | 1,176 Views Uploading Photo's - by attroll On Jul 15, 2004 - 11:33 PM I would like to ask everyone to please put the photos you upload in the appropriate gallery. If you think that it will not show up in your galley under your user name because you placed it in another gallery then your wrong. It will still show up under your user name. On that note if you did not pick a gallery when you uploaded your photos then you could help out by going to your photos and moving them to the appropriate gallery. You can do this by going to each of the photos you uploaded and clicking on edit and pick the appropriate gallery.
