Welcome, Ayradyss! Forums restored Posted by ZealotOnAStick on Tuesday April 15th, at 9:02 pm PDT My fixes to the forums have been completed. I apologize for the downtime. While working on the fix, I also did a VERY minor (two files changed) upgrade that fixes a potential security hole. Unscheduled Forum Maintenance/Upgrade Posted by ZealotOnAStick on Tuesday April 15th, at 5:57 pm PDT Many, if not all of you, will be experiencing problems with the HP forums right now. It's my fault, plain and simple, and I'm sorry. I was a little sloppy while working on what was supposed to be a very quick and simple forum mod, and managed to overwrite some of my backup files. Thus, I was unable to effect a quick and easy restoration to the previous, working state once I discovered that I'd broken the forums. I am in the process of trying to fix this, and will keep at it until things are back to normal. I apologize for the inconvenience. Don't Panic Posted by WolverineJon on Tuesday February 11th, at 10:40 pm PST ZealotOnAStick is currently in the process of upgrading the forum software; during this time, you might see a "Closed" message on the forums, or the forums page might just appear totally empty. Don't panic! Everything should be back up and better than before shortly. Starcraft Tournament 2003 Under Way Posted by WolverineJon on Wednesday January 29th, at 5:39 pm PST The HP 2003 Starcraft Tournament is under way! A couple of interesting upsets happened early on, with both previous tournament champion WolverineJon and runner-up Solstice both losing their Round 1 games this time around. Who still retains enough of their old-school RTS skills to come out victorious this time around? Check out the latest results on the beautiful ASCII art Tournament Bracket! Devil May Cry 2 Posted by Areseris on Thursday September 19th, at 9:40 am PDT Devil May Cry 2 is the sequel to PS2's exclusive Capcom survival horror game Devil May Cry. Sony acquired this exclusive series once they lost the Resident Evil series to Nintendo. DMC combines the fear aspects of Capcom's other games survival horror games with fast paced action and gameplay. This was a much needed addition to 3rd person console games which, in the past, suffered from stiff, slow, and awkward controls. Gamespot just posted a nice preview of hands on experience with this title. Devil May Cry successfully blended the free-flowing action of 2D side-scrolling games with puzzle solving and adventure elements more common to products like Silent Hill. Considering that no publisher knows the survival horror genre quite like Capcom, it was a match made in heaven--or hell, technically. Over the years, the company has had plenty of opportunities to become intimately acquainted with the ins and outs of this particular genre. It's a legacy that began with Biohazard, evolved into Dino Crisis, mutated to become Onimusha, and ultimately reached its peak in Dante's first outing. But fame has its price. Audiences now expect more than just the traditional shock-horror experience from this gothic-styled franchise--they expect a glimpse of raw terror the way John Woo might have imagined it. And that's a big responsibility. Thankfully, as a recent trip to Capcom's Japanese headquarters revealed, that's exactly what fans will be getting come the end of January 2003, when Devil May Cry 2 finally releases. You play as Dante, a half human/half demon character that hunts pretty much anything that manages to make its way out of Hell. The game has a very evil atmosphere and it sucks you into the game. This is a huge anticipated release for me. The projected release date for DMC2 is January. IL-2 expansion Posted by Areseris on Wednesday September 18th, at 6:16 pm PDT It looks like there's a new expansion pack for IL-2... called "IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles." It boasts a long list of new features, here are a few: Dynamic campaign system: In addition to the already existing IL-2 campaign system Forgotten Battles will include a new dynamic campaign system. It will work with all existing IL-2 and Forgotten Battles maps for single play The new map areas: -Finnish gulf map area representing the large territory from Helsinki to Leningrad: Tallin, Kronshtadt, the lake Ladoga, etc. -Hungarian map area representing the Balaton Lake area in Hungary. -L'vov map area (Ukraine and Poland) 20 new single player missions using the Finnish and Hungarian map areas and Order of Battle I figured some of you might be interested in this since a number of you purchased this game recently.
