Comments: It look too much like the old braintalk. Same clique dominating, same topics, same phonies. I can't say people are unfriendly or the moderators are actually bad...but given the close resemblance to John Lester's braintalk, it's not a stretch to imagine the same dynamics are at play. I looked around enough to decide not to join. Too many creepily familiar faces and names.

Comments: Same as the old braintalk. They've adopted the practice of severely limiting editing rights of users. That's just plain wrong: people either own their own words, or they do not. I won't post there anymore. Kimmydawn is a piece of work.

Comments: Very little content. Mostly just a handful of people posting a lot of 'fluff'. I saw the Belinda debacle. I didn't think anything she posted was so bad, and she did have a point about the element of hypocracy. It is interesting that 2 or 3 different people used the word 'phony', because that's kind of the feel I get. It's all "I love us, aren't we wonderful" and very little real discussion of issues; medical or otherwise.

Comments: If you read the comments left by a few here, you will clearly see that they are past banned members of bt. Typical Trolls. Mulitple user names. I am sure that the members of bt would love to know who they really are. NT is a great place that won't put up with their flaming and attacking. If you are interested in a forum that allows Trolls like this, then NT is not a place for you.

Comments: People can constantly post reviews, as this website allows you to. It is obvious the previous posters is the same person, spamming negativity just like they did on all of the other support websites. The keyword I used was support, and if you're there to do nothing but post rude comments to people, why come there? I saw two of Belindas posts before they were deleted and she bumped threads over a year old, only to pick fights. Moderators have been nothing but helpful responding to all inquiries and thankfully quick to remove slanderous posts, spam and anything else that has no place on a forum people come to for help and information, not to read someones bitter remarks. I think livejournal is more appropriate for soapbox whining and flames.

Comments: I posted maybe 10 times. I missed the drama from Belinda, but was sent a private message telling me to come here and deny what she said. I can't confirm or deny a thing, sorry. I haven't had any problems with the moderators, but they do clutter up the forums with all their gags and chocolate jokes. Girls, that was cute, but its annoying.

Comments: Occasional reader should possibly read more often as there are forums for social chatting and fun yes, but there are also an entire group of forums following that are devoted to people helping each other by posting very reputable researchj articles and information on their illnesses as well as giving each other a lot of genuine care and support. You dont like chocolate and fun, stay in the health related forums and dont go to the light hearted forums, that are there to offer a bit of R&R with friends, Something many with these painful conditions really really need! But at least get the comments in accurate perspective here.

Comments: I did not write any of the posts prior to the one I began "No Sour Grapes Here", and none of the subsequent, prior to this. Then, as now, I clicked the link sent by private message, to reply in good faith, to what I thought was a request for honest feedback. It looks like the person who called themselves "occasional reader" found this board the same way. While before my ratings were more or less neutral, the whole process of being lured here and insulted has greatly turned me off. If you can't handle honest feedback about the positives and negatives of the neurotalk board, stop asking us to rate the forum! I am glad you find the board very helpful. That is wonderful, I respect your opinion. There is no need to insult those of us with different viewpoints. My "Perspective" is every bit as "Proper" as any other member, past or present. Please, if you have any further issues with me, talk to me directly in private message, instead of over here. I am communicable, and quite willing to share my thoughts on what can make Neurotalk and Braintalk be more user-friendly for anyone. Of course you will be free to ignore my suggestions.

I was ill and I needed help and I found really important information from kind people at neurotalk so I have no complaints. no forum is perfect.you have to take the good and leave the stuff you dont like. but why find fault when other people like other stuff on forums. i was here checking on another place and found this.it looks to me like the same people are the ones saying it here too. sad reflection on where their focus is. live and let live is good advice. for me, i like neurotalk becasue people are kind and helpful. maybe that is why some dont like it hmm

Comments: Good gracious. The ADD/ADHD Trolls are out in full force. Cathy, Barb, get a grip and a life. Stay at BT. Make sure your daughters are given a vaccine that has horrendous side effects. Why not teach them NOT TO HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX? Do your research. To Observer, I take it you prefer a site like BT where the MODS hide under 4 or 5 usernames. So the MOD you think is doing such a fine job at BT is actually one who posts in a style you dislike. It is common knowledge who the MODS are at BT. THey are not very good at keeping secrets.

Comments: To the above poster; Only an idiot would try to sue someone for posting a vaccination warning. I bet you're the type of person who trips because you are just a clumsy person, then will try and sue the shoe company. Maybe if you had two wits in your head, you'd know the primary causes of cervical cancer and not post next time. That is, unless, you just post here to give everyone something to laugh about. You should try out psych central, it's better suited for your mental needs.

Comments: Why is the defender of nuerotalk so defensive? Calling critics names and accusing them of being trolls and people you dislike does reflects badly on you, on nuerotalk as a whole, and on John G. He has a cult-like following of a few devoted females, who do 90% of all the posting. They spend their spare time looking up members to see what else they do on line. If they belong to sites John considers unkosher, they can be banned for no reason. He spends his spare time trashing everything associated with John Lester, who competes for members with him. John G. recently wrote a scathing article on Second Life. He said "they only have 30,000 logged on at once". I doubt if he has 30 on nuerotalk.

Comments: The previous reviewing needs to take a closer look at the member roster of NeuroTalk. It is not a forum filled with just females. I do recognize a Troll posting here. He knows he was banned for his posts on NeuroTalk, not for anything he posted on other sites. It is evident by the disgruntled people posting here, that they can't follow the simple rules they agreed to when joining NeuroTalk. If you were banned or suspened, then it was for just cause. Find another forum that has rules you can abide by. For those who are reading these reviews before checking out the site, take a few moments to do so. You will find excellent research and support.

Comments: All this back and forth puts a bad taste in my mouth. My experience on the forum was fairly positive, but seeing how nasty some of the supposedly pro-forum persons acting turns my stomach. It's making me not want to read or post on neurotalk ever again! Who knows when I might accidently get on the bad side of Chemar or whoever else keeps attacking other raters.

Comments: These median ratings need to be taken with a pinch of salt.Ratings are artificially inflated by a number of ratings that are from people plugging NT at the expense of giving honest ratings. This is in contrast to the ratings for BT which are deflated by those giving less than honest ratings due to negative personal experiences with BT. It is obvious that with the ratings for both BT and NT propagandists as opposed to honest raters are to the fore.

Comments: These are my personal ratings. For the sake of fairness i will let it be known that i was banned from the site. The reason publicly complaining about the removal of a post that i had been told privately by a Mod was not unacceptable. Despite this post was removed due to complaints by religious fanatics/scientologists trolling the site with a rabid and highly irresponsible anti meds agenda. Low score for Mods will be quite rightly reflected by this.

Comments: Wow, I agree theres a strong anti-med bias, but I didn't realize those in charge were scientologists. That explains a lot: everything from stalking and trying to discredit those who have given less-then-stellar feedback here, the number who post on lattitudes website, the intolerence for viewpoints other then there own, etc. Thanks median rater for clueing me in. Now i know to go for help on a legatimate psychology sight. I wonder how John G reconciles his profession with those of the scientologiests working for him.

Comments: I found NT and BT on Google searches. At NT I was welcomed and helped to find the best places to ask my questions. The members and staff were very helpful. Even gave me links to sources. On BT I have replied to my own post 3 times and never gotten one 1 reply from a member or a mod. To me it looks like most of the negative reviews here are written by the same sour apple. That is sad.
