Lite Futures/Sharp Bariatric Surgery Program is staffed by surgeons certified by the American Board of Surgery with additional training and expertise in bariatric surgery and years of experience in laparoscopic surgery. We are committed to excellence in the selection, education and long term follow-up of our patients. We work in collaboration with excellent Board Certified Anesthesiologists, Internists, Pulmonologists and Psychiatrists. In addition, we have the help of physicians of all specialties, i.e., cardiology, plastic surgery and rehabilitation medicine whenever these services are needed. In the operating room, we have a dedicated team of operating room nurses and scrub technicians that have been carefully selected and trained for this type of surgery. Needless to say, all the necessary equipment is readily available. After surgery, our patients are cared for in a designated bariatric unit staffed by nurses with training in the management and care of bariatric patients. These nurses are directly under the supervision of our Bariatric Program Coordinator, a nurse with many years of education and experience. A dedicated dietitian meets with our patients individually before surgery and remains available for help with dietary questions after surgery. We have a very experienced and dedicated insurance specialist to help our patients with the process of obtaining authorization and with the handling of administrative types of concerns. We have regularly scheduled Patient Support Group meetings, as well as patient educational seminars. 215 views ˇ |
