After a week of extremely poor weather, Sunday was welcomed with sun and a lack of the wet stuff. Though cold, supporters were out in large numbers taking in this seasons final gathering of sport compacts and other "V8-Less" vehicles. Enthusiasts and spectators were surrounded with quite a variety of cars. From newly imported right hand drive Nissans to the familiar veterans that faithfully return to each show, no one was without a favorite. The 1/4 mile was packed with some extremely fast cars, and the show lot was packed with some extremely nice cars, and some of which were both. A special thanks to all the supporters who have made yet another successful year in the world of cars, and a special thanks to the people who spend days and days organizing these events for the fans. Without these people, there would be no shows. The first SCC event was supposed to be held in Edmonton, but was cancelled due to rain. Participants from all over Western Canada are expected to show up at the event. If you couldn't make it out to the Calgary show back in May, here is your chance to get out there to see the hot rides. The Beyond Models will be in attendance for those that want to meet them, or take pictures with them. They will also have beyond.ca lanyards for those that have not picked theirs up yet! [top] Beyond Soccer Get Together - by kenny on Jun 28, 2004 - 7:32 AM Many beyond.ca members gathered yesterday for a friendly game of soccer at the Edgemont field. Ben was of course on hand and snapped a bunch of pictures of the action so be sure to visit his photo gallery for those (see link at bottom). Refreshments were available and were provided due to the support from all of the sponsors of beyond.ca. If you have never gone out to one of the beyond recreational events, I encourage you to come on out. This is a great way to meet other members of the forums and do something that is not car related with others that share the same interests. Look for basketball, hockey and more soccer get togethers where you can get out to have some fun and even get a little exercise in! To join in on a discussion on yesterday's game, visit this link Ben's Soccer pictures [top] Bimmerfest 2004 Calgary - by rage2 on Jun 27, 2004 - 7:47 AM On June 26, 2004 the first ever official international Bimmerfest event was held at Tunerworks in Calgary Alberta, Canada. The event drew cars from BC, Manitoba, Washington state, even the North West Territories. With nearly 200 BMW's in attendance, it was one of the best shows Calgary has seen. A Channel as well as The Calgary Herald showed up to interview the organizers as well as car owners, with excellent media coverage. The music was great, the food was excellent, and the crowd was friendly. What a great way to kick off the first bimmerfest in Canada. The afternoon was nicely rounded off with a good old fasioned cruise, cause you cant have a show without a display of these fine automobiles on the road. After clogging up the flow of traffic on Highway 1, we arrived in Canmore and concluded the days activities. Thanks to tunerworks for the food and prizes, Clem for great organization, and a congratulations goes out to our very own ScCab, who brought home the Ultimate Bimmer Best in Show prize with his heavily modified Supercharged M3 Cab!
